Change the page layout to match the CNC machine
Choose Roland Modela MDX-15 (multi)
You might want to change the material size if you don’t need to use the whole area
Double-click on the ‘Grid’ icon to change the grid spacing
Set the grid spacing to 2.5mm and the step spacing to 1.25mm
It might be a good idea to draw a box, using the rectangle tool, that sets the boundaries for your PCB if you are not using the whole area
In the example below the rectangle has been drawn 35mm tall and 60mm wide
Click on the ‘Line’ tool and then change the thickness (using the Line style button) to 0.30mm
Then change the line colour to blue using the line colour button
You can now use the line tool to draw out the circuit diagram, leaving spaces for the components
Click and hold the line icon and then select the ‘Draw a single point’ icon at the end
Change the point thickness to 0.80mm and the point colour to red (in the same way that you changed the line to 0.3mm and blue)
Use the point tool to draw dots in the places where you want the CNC machine to drill the holes
Using the ‘select’ tool, select the whole of your pcb and then click on the flip arrows to reverse your design
It is a good idea to print out your design to check that the spacings are correct. Then save into the ‘Drop Zone’, ‘Design & Technology’, ‘Year9’, ‘Systems & Control’
