Bible Language Arts Ms. Meek Lesson # 10 Composing a detailed paragraph

What is a Descriptive Paragraph? It describes or tells about a person, place, or event. It includes ideas, vivid details, words, and phrases that make a picture in your mind. It clearly describes a setting.

What is a Paragraph? A paragraph is a group of sentences about the same subject.

What is a Descriptive Paragraph? It describes the writer’s attitudes towards the places or people in the writing. It includes sensory words to clarify the description.

Writing Model The soccer field was a muddy mess. It had rained all day. Little pools of water covered the field. The players slid and fell in the slippery muck. It was as slick as an ice-skating rink! In minutes they were splattered with mud all over. They laughed wildly as they chased the soccer down the field. It was like playing in a giant mud puddle.
