The SBB CFF FFS Re 6/6 QUICK GUIDE

Quick guide  These slides will take you through all the functions of the Re 6/6 – Re 620 Platinum Pack for TS2015 by CreativeworX

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Startup 1.Go into the cab (press 1) 2.Move panto switch forward (P) 3.Move main switch forward (Z) You will hear the mainswitch engage and a test sequence for the warning lights will be initiated. The rear panto (default) will raise. The engine is now ready for operation.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Lights The servicelights switch on by moving the ‘Dienstlicht’ switch forward (Ctrl – D). 3 white frontlights and one white taillight will be switched on (default). You can change the taillights to any other position manually: Ctrl-1 / Crtl-Shift-1 = Taillight right Ctrl-2 / Crtl-Shift-2 = Taillight middle (top) Ctrl-3 / Crtl-Shift-3 = Taillight left Sequence: White Off Red Off

Quick guide – Re 6/6 High beam and Cablights Press the ‘Fernlicht’ switch(H) to switch on the high beam. There are several lights in the cabine: Cab light (Shift-L / Ctrl-L) Instrument light (Ctrl-I / Ctrl-Shift-I) Schedule light (Ctrl-F10)

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Wipers The left and right wipers are controlled separately: Left wiper (C / Ctrl-C) Right wiper (V / Ctrl-V) Sequence: Off Slow Fast Switching a wiper off leaves it in it’s current position. There is no auto-return or park. This makes it possible to park it to the right side off the window, which is a preferred position for SBB drivers.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Brakes Before driving make sure all brakes are off: Handbrake (/) – default = off Locobrake ([ / ]) – default = 20% on Trainbrake (; / ‘) – default = off The trainbrake has 6 positions: 1.Abschlussstellung - Park 2.Fuellstellung - Ready 3.Fahrstellung - Drive 4.1. Bremsstellung – Brake low 5.1. Schnellbremsstellung – Brake medium 6.2. Schnellbremsstellung – Brake full 7.Vollbremsung - Emergencybrake

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Reverser and Combined Throttle-Brake To move forward push the Wendehebel forward (W), to reverse pull backwards (S). The middle position is neutral. The Fahrhebel is a combined throttle and dynamic brake : Push forward to increase throttle (A) Pull backwards to decrease throttle (D) Above the middle (zero) position is throttle, below the middle postion is dynamic brake. The button on the Fahrhebel pivot point is the horn.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Mirrors, Sander, Horn The mirrors can be deployed / closed by pressing Ctrl-S. The sander (X) can be used to increase traction on slippery tracks The horn is located on the throttle lever pivot (pushbutton B)

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Wachsamkeitskontrolle The Re 6/6 has a deadmans safety system which is like a distance-distance SIFA. When the system is switched on (Shift-7) it is in ‘ Langsamgang ’ (slow mode). This is used during shunting. A warning will sound after 200 meter. To prevent this the driver needs to press the pedal (Space) before that or quickly after the warning. When the driver pushes and holds the pedal the system goes into ‘ Schnellgang ’ (fast mode). Now the warning sounds after 1800 meter. To simulate this press Crtl- Space (pedal down). The driver must move the Throttle or Trainbrake or release the pedal shortly (Space) before 1800 meter is travelled. Failing to correctly operate the Wachsamkeitskontrolle causes a warning and eventually an emergencybraking.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 ZUB (Zugbeeinflussung) display The ZUB display shows the maximum speed on the current track. It shows trackspeed, no signal speed! When the trackspeed is not available the red light to the left of the display lights up and display shows zero.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 AWS (PZB) Zugsicherung PZB is not used in Switzerland. The engine does have a simple safety system however. When passing a signal which shows a limited speed the ZUB light lights up and a buzzer sounds. The driver needs to turn the Zugsicherung knob (Q) to override the warning and slow down. When passing a red signal the emergency brake is applied instantly except when the ‘manoever’ mode (Ctrl-M) is active.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Manoever mode When shunting or needing to pass a red light at low speed, the driver can switch off the Zugsicherung temporarily by engaging the ‘Manoever’mode (Ctrl-M). When active the Manoever light comes on and the speedlimit is now 40 Km/h. It is now possible to pass a red signal without causing an emergencybrake. On passing a red signal in this mode the ZUB buzzer and light will sound 3 times.

Quick guide – Re 6/6 Pantograph arc When driving in the winter season there will be electric arcing where the Panto touches the overhead caterary wire. This will happen automatically when in motion. This effect can be switched off by pressing Ctrl-Shift-A
