Greenhouses What is the purpose of a greenhouse?

Greenhouses greenhouse (also called a glasshouse) is a building in which plants are grown. These structures range in size from small sheds to very large buildings. A miniature greenhouse is known as a cold frame.cold frame

How do they work? it heats up because incoming visible solar radiation (for which the glass is transparent) from the sun is absorbed by plants, soil, and other things inside the building. Air warmed by the heat from hot interior surfaces is retained in the building by the roof and wall.

What are they made from? Glass Plastic Thought Question- How could you make a greenhouse with materials around your house?

Earth Materials

What are earth materials? * Earth materials are solid rocks and soils, water, and the gases of the atmosphere. The materials have different properties which make them useful for different purposes, such as buildings, fuels, and food. * Soils have properties of color and texture; capacity to hold water, and grow plants. * Fossils provide evidence about plants and animals that lived long ago and the nature of the earth at that time.
