My Role One of 4 deputies to Vice Chancellor (= rector/CEO) My portfolio: knowledge exchange (KE), employability, corporate comms, skills partnerships, student satisfaction, green agenda, health and safety. Line manage 2 services (LIS and RIU). Manage funding council relationship (HEFCE). Priorities at start: sort out budget and focus of KE & corp comms. Then came employability. Solution: merge and re-focus. Work with HEFCE on funding. Next year : develop new team and offer...and ?? RJB July 2011
Fees and the new offer Average fee of 7.8K from (most Unis 8-9k). ‘Striking a fair balance’ between investment (estate/student experience) and student debt. Being ‘distinctive’. Work related learning through out the curriculum 100 new internships New support for student start ups (course, mentoring, capital, incubation space) Extensive student enterprise & volunteering opportunities (400+) RJB July 2011
