Plus Life An online shopping and information portal for plus-sizers Team Trump

Did you know… 10% of Singaporeans are obese, up from 6.4% in 2004 Sadly plus-sizers don’t fit in very well in Singapore Not much choices for plus-sizers to look good Few plus size shops Some “mainstream” shops do sell plus sizes but they are not shouting “WELCOME!”

And… Lack of credible information compiled in 1 place for plus-sizers Few online shops selling plus sizes Most plus size shops don’t have an online presence (that shouts “WELCOME!”)

What is Plus Life? An online shop selling plus sizes to women An information portal for plus-sizers

Business Advantages Comparative advantageAbsolute advantageCompetitive advantage -Offer quality apparel for plus sizers at comparable prices with other retailers -Use plus-size models for apparel display in website - Be a leading information portal on topics ranging from health, beauty, news, and blogs. - Be an Amazon.com for plus-size retailers to use Plus Life to sell their apparel - Refresh of apparel every quarter - Expand potential customer market to men’s apparel, then later lifestyle products (furniture, … )

Product/Service & Value Products/ServicesValues & ExpectationsNeeds Satisfied -Trendy women’s apparel -Comprehensive information for all a plus- sizer wants to know -Comparable prices to other online retailers -Lower prices compared to physical retailers -Quality apparel designs -Targeting at working adults who want to look good and trendy -Plus sizers are empowered to look good - Plus sizers

Customers Current customers Women who want to look good but do not have the $$ to tailor clothes / buy from US, UK People who are interested to learn more about plus- sizers Potential customers Women who are not yet plus sizes Men (when Plus Life sells men’s apparel)

5-Force Analysis Potential entrants – LOW. This is a niche market, in Singapore and ASEAN. Another entrant with a similar concept will likely get overcrowded. Supplier power – LOW. Most of the apparel will be specially designed. Rivalry – HIGH. The UK and US market is very big on plus-sizers. Key will be to keep products cheap and maintain local flavour for information.

5-Force Analysis Buyer power - MODERATE. They may choose to buy from other “unwelcoming” retailers. Substitutes – LOW. Plus Life needs to market itself as empowering plus-sizers to live well and happy, through the entire website experience and through information.
