God has a gift for you!

rest! The gift is

Most of us have a hard time receiving God’s gift!

Leaders live with a lot of tension

God is sovereign

I am responsible

Leading is joyful

Leading is draining

There is never enough time …

But the work never stops

I want to keep going

But I must rest!

What is a leader supposed to do?

What I Learned In The Back Of The Boat

35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let’s go across to the other side.” 36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him.

37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”

41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” Mark 4:35-41

What I Learned In The Back Of The Boat It is okay to rest

1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. 2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:1-2

9 And out of the ground the L ORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9

24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the L ORD your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the L ORD your God chooses, to set his name there, Deuteronomy 14:24-26

25 then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the L ORD your God chooses 26 and spend the money for whatever you desire—oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. Deuteronomy 14:24-26

And you shall eat there before the L ORD your God and rejoice, you and your household. Deuteronomy 14:24-26
