Encouraging instructor-student and student-student collaboration Social media tools can also be used to encourage collaboration between all members of the class. Google Apps for Education ( and Google Plus ( provide strong collaboration tools to assist with teaching and learning. Google Docs ( can be used to provide real-time collaboration opportunities for students working on word-processing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. You can have up to 50 people collaborating on one document in real time. Skype in the Classroom ( allows an instructor to beam experts into the classroom for guest lectures and talks. Weebly ( can be used to create a personal or professional website or blog.
