Pendleton CTUIR Connect Google Fiber

Welcome to our community Founded on a rich history of cooperation, Pendleton is a quiet, yet intensely vigorous city. A city well prepared to join in cooperation with Google. A city that welcomes the opportunities of change. Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) is unique among reservations. The cooperative effort between the tribes and the local city of Pendleton has been approached with open arms. CTUIR is welcoming Google and the new opportunities that come with it.

PENDLETON/CTUIR What we see for our future Pendleton/CTUIR would be able to offer a robust range of possibilities for both young and old. With the massive increase in bandwidth, the infrastructure would support economic growth and much greater educational, entertainment, and unforeseen next generation application benefits. The local healthcare industry could better serve the community with virtual consultations, immediate transmission of test results, and ease of diagnostics. The teen and adolescent population would have greater gaming potential, faster access to online learning, and social networking enhancements. The geriatric community would have improved access to online health resources, networking with distant family, and resources tailored to individual interests. The early education instruction could offer a wide array of material for the children. For example, a distance learning environment for the students to experience a foreign language, watch a live feed on an African Safari, or connect face to face with children in another country. The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) would have increased ability to retain traditional ways by offering virtual language classes to tribal and community members. Also, businesses would be attracted to Coyote Business Park with the gigabit Internet facilities.
