Purpose of ACHA Coalitions  To provide a multi-disciplinary issue oriented organizational mechanism from all regions for continuing education; advocacy; knowledge, standards, and professional development.  To enhance channels of communication between members with different professional identities from all regions to address issues based strategic initiatives of the Association.  To expand membership recruitment and participation opportunities. Goal 1  ACHA will support and promote systems and programs that produce optimum health outcomes for college students and campus communities. The National Health Objectives in Higher Education Coalition will translate national health objectives (Healthy People 2020) into campus- based objectives and will create additional objectives that are specific to the needs of college students and campus communities. Goal 2  ACHA will be the primary source of information, education and consultation on health and health promotion issues affecting college and university students within the campus community. The National Health Objectives in Higher Education Coalition will publish Healthy Campus 2020 (including a getting started on your campus section within the publication.) Goal 3  ACHA will be the leading source of evidence-based knowledge about the field of college health. The National Health Objectives in Higher Education Coalition will relate college health objectives to available data sources. ACHA NCHA Trends and Healthy Campus 2010 Midcourse Review7

Goal 4  ACHA will be the principal advocate for national policy affecting the health of all college students and campus communities. The National Health Objectives in Higher Education Coalition, utilizing the Healthy Campus 2020 document will assist with identifying key areas in need of changes in public policy.
