STRESS  Body’s response to a demand  Stressor ○○ Any situation that puts a demand on the body of mind  Environmental- pollution, poverty, crowding, noise  Biological- illness, disability or injury  Thinking- mental challenges, tests, homework  Eustress ○○ Positive stress to make you feel alert and lively  Distress ○○ Negative stress that can make you sick

THE PHYSICAL RESPONSE TO STRESS  Fight or Flight Response  Epinephrine or Adrenaline  Breathing speeds up  Heart beats up  Muscles tense  Pupils dilate  Digestion slows
