IDEA A deeper understanding of God’s Glory will help us get involved in mission

1. God’s glory refers to the “honour and praise & reputation of God Himself.” Isaiah 42:8 “I am the Lord; this is my name and my glory I will not give to another; nor my praise to carved images.” What is the meaning of God’s Glory?

Is God receiving the glory from His creation? Romans 1:21-23“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their hearts were darkened. The reason for not glorifying God is sin in the heart and mind. Thus, the gospel must be preached to all the nations.

2. God’s glory refers to the “Endowment of blessing, power and life.” Glory is used to describe the awesome power of God. What is the meaning of God’s Glory?

Isaiah 58:8 “Then your light will break forth like dawn and your healing will quickly appear, then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.” Thus, the glory of God is described as a power, which will protect God’s people.
