Peter’s Testimony 2 Peter 1:16-18 “For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.”

Declared to be God’s Spokesman Peter misunderstood the significance of the events on the mount – Luke 9:32-33 The Father said to hear his Son – Luke 9:34-35 God only has one spokesman today – Luke 9:36 –Hebrews 1:1-2 Remember Moses’ prophecy – Deuteronomy 18:15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear.” (Acts 3:18-23)
