Aims To provide a set of effective and practical procedures which; –Minimise disruption within each business area –Enable normal working to be resumed in the shortest possible time

Objectives To ensure control is established at a senior level in the critical early stages of a disaster situation To provide the Recovery Teams with a detailed list of actions to cover the initial period following a disaster

Impact of the CC Act Will increase the profile of BCM in the Council BCM will become part of the culture of the organisation Business Impact Analysis – internal and external risk assessment Development of a training programme And more exercises Increased ownership of the plans Computerisation of the plans – money available for new system - will assist updating considerably Likely split of EPO and BCM roles

Impact of the CC Act - 2 Need to ensure Emergency Planning response is separated from BC response –Not going to be easy in a smallish organisation Need to ensure emergency response is not affected (as much as possible) Where will the BCM function ultimately reside? Greater co-ordinated/liaison with Risk Managers will be necessary
