As part of the course requirement, students will actively participate with local government by Attending Public Policy Meetings Performing Community Service Researching Issues Lobbying Congress

Alternatives for Seniors All seniors take Government and Economics, there are only “regents” sections. However there are Advanced Placement alternatives for each course!!

A.P. Microeconomics Prerequisites: Demonstrates strong ability to read and analyze data. Student must have at least an 85% average in math and social studies 11. We will study the theories of pricing, profit, budgeting, etc. At this level we will use math to prove economic theories (+,-,×,÷ and graphing on an x/y axis).

A.P. Microeconomics Qualifies for NYS requirement for economics. Cool scheduling: it runs for the whole year but every-other-day (opposite of AP Government). This leaves an opportunity for extra time to complete work and get extra help!! Learn about what is going on with our economy and how to survive!

A.P. Microeconomics, cont. Possible Teacher: Mrs. Bieron Future Applications: College Credit!! Saves time and $...how economical Great foundation for degrees in business, finance, and of course economics! Life relevant material, students come in with great foundation that we will build on.

A.P. Government Prerequisites Strong performance on US History Regents Exam Summer Assignment Reaction guide on Liberty & Government Read political fiction Use chapters 1 & 2 of textbook Internet research on current political topic

Be an informed citizen! AP US Government will: Help you understand politics! Provide you with tools to analyze issues. Motivate you to participate! Get you registered to vote. Have you contact your lawmaker. Invite you to engage in intelligent debate!

What APG can do for you! Possible Teacher: Mr. Stuhlmiller Future Applications: College credit: Save time and $$ Watch the news and REALLY understand what is going on in your country. Become a life-time voter!!
