What ownership are businesses under when they are run or controlled by the Government?

Understand Public ownership and its differenceto private ownership All- identify the difference Most -Can do the above and explain the difference in detail giving the main role the state play Some - Can do all of the above and explain in detail the role of the state in public ownership giving examples and real istic explanations

Some business are under public ownership and controlled by the state Run by the state on behalf of others A business can also be controlled by trustees, who oversee, the business affairs. e.g Parks

1. Government departments 2. Local Authorities 3. Health Trusts 4. Public Corporations

It is called PUBLIC OWNERSHIP because it is us ‘THE PUBLIC’ that help the Government fund Government departments or organisations such as the department of transport, refuse collection and health care!!! WE PAY TAX e.g road tax, income tax All the tax we pay goes to the Government and they keep it in a pot and then use our tax, so our money to fund organisations such as hospitals and refuse collection so that we get that service at it’s best.
