Tuesday We’ll begin to read “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” today! HOMEWORK: Your Dickinson-ian poem is due tomorrow. Finish the short story, too. Get some work done on sources for the social issue you’ve selected. March 15, 2011

Wednesday After we talk some about the Twain story, we’ll get started on a Bret Harte story, also set in Northern California, “The Outcasts of Poker Flat.” HOMEWORK: Finish the short story & go over questions 1 – 5, 9 on page 485 to prepare for the quiz Thursday. March 16, 2011
