The story begins on Maple Street when suddenly an unknown light flies above the neighborhood. Then all of the electricity goes out and cars do not work. The neighbors become fearful. Tommy, a young boy explains how in his comic books, similar things have happened. One of the neighbors, Goodman, tries to start his car and it works.
