Dress the Part 0 What is missing..??

CHEF COAT!!

FUN KITCHEN FACTS! 0 True or False 0 It is ok to use the same knife to cut multiple items. 0 FALSE Use a new knife to cut different ingredients to prevent cross contamination!!

FUN KITCHEN FACTS!! 0 True or False? If I change my gloves I do not have to wash my hands. FALSE!! Just because you change your gloves does not mean you don’t have to wash your hands before changing to new ones!

FUN KITCHEN FACTS!! 0 True or False? 0 It is alright to put the allergy sensitive meals in the same hot box as the other meals. FALSE!! It is extremely important not to mix any of the ingredients that may cause a guest with sensitive allergies to have an allergic reaction! For example a guest with a nut allergy can have a reaction just from being in the same room as nuts

FUN KITCHEN FACTS! 0 True or False? 0 It is ok to take a bathroom break. 0 TRUE!! 0 BUT 0 Make sure to remove your chef coat and hang outside the restroom before entering 0 AND 0 Wash your hands once you have returned to the kitchen prior to putting new gloves on

FUN KITCHEN FACTS! 0 True or False? 0 If I am sick I should inform a manager or supervisor before preparing any food that day. 0 TRUE!! 0 If you are sick we will access the situation and go from there. 0 We do not want any workers cooking who are at risk of getting any guests sick as well.

Where to Find the Tools! 0 Cooking utensil locations will be indicated by large, brightly colored posters. 0 If you have any questions do not hesitate to locate a supervisor or manager to ask.

Where to Find the GOODS! 0 Like the utensils, ingredients will also be indicated with large, brightly colored posters. 0 All Secret Garden supplies will be labeled with a sticker illustrating the initials “SG”.

Cooking Cards 0 Supervisors will be providing you and your college a card with information that you will need to prepare your dish. 0 Supervisors will give an over view of what is listed on the card and help assist as well.

What the DISH?! 0 When finished with a utensil, bowl, pan, etc. it is important to walk it over to the dish washing station. 0 If no one is there to give it to then it is vital that you: 0 1. Rinse the item completely Place rinsed item on the cart provided.

What the DISH?! 0 But, what if the cart is full? 0 If cart is full, and all dish washers are busy, then: 0 Take cart back to the dish room 0 Turn dish washer on by pushing the GREEN BUTTON 0 Place items on the conveyer belt 0 While items are being washed, rinse and wipe off cart in the cleaning closet in wash room. 0 Finally, place clean items back on cart and return items back to kitchen. 0 Put items back where they belong and return to your next task.

What the DISH?! 0 Dish washing can be gross, BUT if you follow the simple steps listed it will eliminate much of the hassle. 0 Try to avoid clogging the sinks by scrapping food off into a food waste basket prior to rinsing. 0 Do not leave items in sink or dirty cart with out being rinsed off. 0 Stay on top of full carts. 0 With regards to smaller items, grab a washing tray to place items on to run through the washer. 0 Doing this prior to the dish room will save you time.
