Mission of the ACMP The Alaska Coastal Management Program provides stewardship for Alaskas rich and diverse coastal resources to ensure a healthy and vibrant Alaskan coast that efficiently sustains long-term economic and environmental productivity.

Structure of the ACMP 1. Voluntary 2. OPMP – lead agency 3. Networked – participating State agencies 4. Local implementation – municipalities and coastal resource service areas 5. Comprehensive management

Value of the ACMP 1. Provide balance between economic development and protection of coastal uses and resources 2. Apply State laws to federal agency activities 3. Provide project applicant single point of contact 4. Coastal district input and knowledge 5. Planning assistance and funding

A Call For Leadership 1. Be cautious of labels 2. Everyone deserves respect 3. Courtesy makes a difference 4. Take time to know your people 5. Anyone can be a hero
