Welcome to George White Middle School! Welcome to your first day of fifth grade. I am excited and energized to spend the year with you. In order to ensure that we have a safe, fun, and productive school year, there are a few rules & procedures we need to review, learn, rehearse and follow.

Greet the teacher & enter our classroom quietly. Walk directly to your seat and unpack your backpack/books at your desk. Take out your Homework and place it on desk for me to check Put your backpack and jacket in your cubby Be seated quietly, and take out books for the day We are seated, talking quietly until the Morning Show starts- NO TALKING during Morning Show

When I need your attention I will raise my hand. You will do 3 Things: 1. FREEZE! - Stop what you are doing 2. Make eye contact with me 3. Be ready to listen and take notes Keep voices low at all times. No talking during the Morning Show or during any announcements Respect each other at all times, as well as respect all other students, teachers, principals

If you need my attention, raise your hand and wait to be called on – OR Take out yellow Help card, place on desk and continue working If you need to use the restroom, hold up your pinky and wait for signal from me Clean up and put back in place items you use in the classroom. Keep your hands and feet to yourselves. – Absolutely NO hitting, pushing, or touching

When someone enters the classroom continue working quietly and follow all classroom rules and procedures. Sharpen pencils only at the end of the day in preparation for the next day. Have 3 ready for next day If you need a new pencil, take one from NEW Pencil can and leave old pencil Before afternoon dismissal pack what’s needed to take home, reflect on the day’s work, and wait to be dismissed.

Clean your surrounding desk area at the end of the day. Place your chair on your desk and wait until the teacher asks you to line up. Follow all classroom rules and procedures when visiting teachers or substitute teachers are in the classroom. Be on time and at school everyday.

Always remember that we are a FAMILY, and we are going to have a FANTASTIC school year.
