Making Ethical Decisions at Work
Presentation transcript:

 The application of moral standards to management behaviour.  What is morally right and wrong.  Ethical dilemma occurs when an organisation is faced with making a decision with all alternatives having some negative outcome.

 Organisations often implement a corporate code of conduct for employees to follow to make making ethical decisions easier and a part of workplace culture.  A corporate code of conduct is a set of ethical standards for managers and employees to uphold.

 Social responsibility is the awareness of an organisation’s management of the social, environmental, political and human consequences of its actions.  This is important as many customers choose to use an organisation based on its actions.  Many organisations undertake a social audit. This is a report of what an organisation has done, and is doing, with regard to social issues.
