All About Me Sam Porter

Biography Born June 24th 1990 in North Yorkshire, England Moved to Canada in 2003 I play sports such as soccer, rugby, and I also ski I live in West Vancouver, just off Exit 7 Most of the time I feel overloaded with homework, but on the odd chance that I’m not, I usually go out with friends or watch some sweet TV I listen to a variety of music including classic rock, blues, and the occasional rap Some of my favorite films include; Jackass 1 & 2, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers, Super Troopers, and Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Multiple Intelligence The highest learning style I have is visual/spatial, this means that I tend to think in pictures and need to create mental pictures in order to learn. I learn best from visual displays with diagrams, illustrated text books, overhead transparencies, videos, flipcharts and hand-outs I am also an intrapersonal learner meaning I can reflect on myself, my skills include recognizing my own strengths and weaknesses, and reflecting and analyzing them I am a Bodily/Kinesthetic person meaning I have the ability to control body movements and handle objects skillfully. I express myself through movement and have a good sense of balance. Possible career paths for this are athletes, physical education teachers, and also actors.

Learning Styles My highest score was the Doing Learning style, this means that I learn best through a hands on approach, and need to explore the subject fully to grasp the material of the lesson. Followed closely was my Visual Learning style, this means that I also learn well with visual displays and like to pay close attention to what’s been said and done in the lesson. My lowest learning style by quite a way is my Hearing Learning style, this means I don’t really learn well with lectures or discussions.

Past Computer Experience I have taken I.T 9-11 and have learned a great deal from this class I know how to use PhotoShop successfully I have a basic knowledge in HTML coding I know how to use the internet successfully for research for school projects I know how to use MSN Messenger and Hotmail I have created websites in the past, most notably North Shore Bands in I.T 9

What I Want To Learn I would like to expand my knowledge of HTML coding and other coding languages I want to learn how to build a computer and understand how and why it works I think Microsoft Excel would be a valuable tool to learn so I would like to do that too Learn something about coding for games or graphics programs
