Who is a Veteran? Veterans are people who serve or have served in the military in times of war or peace.

United States Navy The Navy patrols the oceans and water ways in large ships. It also has pilots that fly airplanes to help keep us safe!
United States Army The Army helps keep us safe on the ground. They have doctors and pilots to help.
United States Marines The Marines carry out missions on land, sea, and air. They are usually the first branch to help in large conflicts.
United States Air Force The Air Force keeps us safe by patrolling the airways.
United States Coast Guard The Coast Guard protects Americas’ coasts and waterways…like the Mississippi River. They also help rescue people that are in trouble in the water.

What’s the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day? Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring those people who died serving their country! On Veterans Day we thank and honor those who served in the military.
