Plot After mother’s death, Oliver Twist has to live in a workhouse. He asks for more food, but he is sacked from the workhouse and he has to live as an apprentice of gravedigger Sowerberry. Then he runs away to London, where he joins a thievish gang led by old Jew Fagin. After one robbery, Oliver is arrested by police, but he is rescued by Mr. Brownlow. Oliver lives with him for some time, but then he is kidnapped by Fagin‘s gang. Oliver is compelled to another robbery, where he is wounded.
