Free Powerpoint Templates Page 3 INTUITION IS….. Anything you know without conscious processing, thought, or observation

How do YOU know? 1.Think of one (only one for now) place you feel/receive/notice your intuition 2.Write your name on a post-it 3.Stick the post-it on the corresponding part of your body 4.Find someone who has a post-it in the same area (if you can -- if not, find anyone) 5.Share how you get your intuition from this place 6.After you’ve both shared, place your post-its on body chart in the appropriate spot 7.Repeat (another place you ALSO feel/receive/notice your intuition and another partner for sharing)

Contextual Intuition Mirror Neurons Vagus Nerve Heart / Gut Right Hemisphere Other Senses Collective Consciousness Heart’s Resonant Field

Free Powerpoint Templates Page 6 THE INTUITION SYSTEM Mirror Neurons Vagus Nerve Right Hemisphere of the brain – connects to vagus nerve / mirror neurons for empathy LH of the brain – works with information coming through the RH PFC and hippocampus – data collected by development of expertise in a specific area Sensory information Heart’s resonant field The collective consciousness

CONTEXTUAL INTUITION Part One—Expertise Pick an area you know a lot about and write down as much as possible in 5 minutes 1.What are all the experiences you have had that contributed to your expertise? 2.What mistakes have you made and corrected? 3.Successes and failures? 4.Different places, times and people who played a role? Get a partner and share: What do you “just know” in this area? What is in your unconscious competence?

CONTEXTUAL INTUITION Part Two—Coaching Write down as much as possible in 5 minutes 1.What are all the experiences you have had that contribute to your contextual coaching intuition? 2.What mistakes have you made and corrected? 3.Successes and failures? 4.Different places, times and people who have played a role? Same partner, take turns sharing—as a coach: What do you really trust in this area of intuition? Where could you trust your contextual intuition more?

Free Powerpoint Templates Page 12 THE INTUITION SYSTEM MIRROR NEURONS = I feel something in my body that is happening in your body

Free Powerpoint Templates Page 13 MIRROR NEURONS Mirror neurons fire when we do an action or when we observe or imagine the action Help us learn by observing and imitating others Help us feel and understand others – create connection If we don’t hold another as part of our group, mirror neurons for empathy don’t fire

Free Powerpoint Templates Page 14 THE INTUITION SYSTEM VAGUS NERVE = I feel something in my body

Free Powerpoint Templates Page 16 Vagus Nerve Vagus = wandering. Connected to almost every organ in our body. Most information (80-90%) flows to the brain. Controls voice, inner ear, small muscles of face. Directly connected to our ability to self-regulate and be emotionally intelligent.

Free Powerpoint Templates Page 17 THE INTUITION SYSTEM ADDITIONAL SENSES = I smell, I hear COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS and HEART’S RESONANT FIELD = Something comes to me that I couldn’t possibly know

INTUITION GAME Person A tells a NEUTRAL fact about someone they know (not in the room). Person B checks in with their own body response. Person B writes down 2-3 words or images that come to them about how A feels about the person they are thinking of. DO NOT CENSOR YOURSELF. Person B tells A words, asks What’s true? What’s helpful?

MANDALAS Get a partner Coachee tells coach a five to seven minute story about something that is troubling them. Coach may ask clarifying questions (but does not coach at this point). Coach draws what they are inspired to draw in the mandala circle. No censoring or editing. Put aside when done. Switch and repeat. AFTER both have told stories and each coach has done a drawing, take ten minutes each to interpret the drawing. Coach hold an open space and be curious. Client’s job is to make meaning of what coach drew.
