Time Given: 3 minutes Thursday March 5, 2009 (3/5/2009) Order the following standards based on how comfortable you are with them on the FCAT. For example, if I am very comfortable with Plot Element questions, but very uncomfortable with Main Idea questions, then I would place Plot Elements as #1 and Main Idea as #10. 1.Plot Elements (Freytag, characters, etc.) 2.Cause and Effect 3.Compare and Contrast (similarities/differences) 4.Main Idea 5.Organizational Patterns (flashback/chrono.) 6.Author’s Purpose (scare tactic, bandwagon, etc.) 7.Research Tools (dictionary, thesaurus) 8.Multiple Sources 9.Validity and Reliability 10.Context Clues

 For main idea questions, the following must be true:  The answer must be about the WHOLE passage/poem.  The answer CANNOT BE about ONE paragraph or section. Main Idea
