Outline Objective - Quality Improvements Objective - Quality Improvements Overview of Available Equipment Overview of Available Equipment Options For Larger/Smaller Vessels Options For Larger/Smaller Vessels

Components Handling Tank to Reduce Broken Shrimp Handling Tank to Reduce Broken Shrimp Ice Slurry machines Ice Slurry machines Slurry Holding tanks Slurry Holding tanks Insulated Boxes Insulated Boxes Automated by-catch separator conveyor Automated by-catch separator conveyor Hopper system Hopper system

Options Existing Fleet Existing Fleet Chill Tank Chill Tank Ice slurry Ice slurry Insulated box - bag combination Insulated box - bag combination Longer Vessels Chill Tanks Ice Slurry Tanks Automated Sorting Insulated Boxes

Larger Vessel Operations Minimal Handling

Protected from Sun and Heat Low Height Sloped Floor & Chilled Water to Move Shrimp

Hydraulic Door Opening

To Box

In-Feed Hopper to By-Catch Separator to Boxing

Smaller Vessel option

Smaller Vessel Option Holding Tank vs. Pen Board Holding Advantage - No Shovelling or Sweeping

Sealed Tank with Chilled Water Added

Cover to Aid in Rolling Out the Trawl

Flat Floor, Rectangular Fish Hold for Boxing

Ice Slurry Generator Mixing Tank

Ice Slurry Continued Superchilled to -2 o C Reduced the temperature of the Shrimp to a final temp of -0.7 o C

Boxing Boxing will increase the quality of the shrimp, less handling and will increase the shelf life. Combination of bags and boxing will also help the quality.

Conclusions Using Ice Slurry and Chill tanks will greatly increase the quality and shelf life of shrimp, and can be implemented on the existing fleet Using Ice Slurry and Chill tanks will greatly increase the quality and shelf life of shrimp, and can be implemented on the existing fleet Other systems can be implemented on larger vessels and would also increase the value of the shrimp Other systems can be implemented on larger vessels and would also increase the value of the shrimp By catch separator By catch separator Large boxes Large boxes Etc.
