Unit 9E and 9F Lesson 8: Metals and Non-Metal Oxides Objective: to learn the properties of metal and metal oxides.

Oxides Oxygen is one of the more reactive substances on earth and likes to form bonds with other chemicals. When oxygen bonds with a metal it is called a metal oxide. When oxygen bonds with a non-metal it is called a non metal oxide.

Metal v. Non-Metal Oxides Metal oxides are bases and therefore neutralize acids. Non-metal oxides form acids.
