The way of the wicked ­The sin of the Sodomites Ezekiel 16:49–50 “Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me.”

The way of the wicked ­The sin of the Sodomites 1. Their sin was homosexual behavior Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”

The way of the wicked ­The sin of the Sodomites 1. Their sin was homosexual behavior Romans 1:26–27...women exchanged the natural sexual relations for unnatural ones, and likewise the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed in their passions for one another.

Matthew 11:23–24 “And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day. Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you.”

1 Corinthians 6:18–19 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

The way of the wicked ­The sin of the Sodomites 6. Their sin was prolonged 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

The way of the worldly 2 Peter 2:7–8 God rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds)....

The way of the worldly 1 Corinthians 3:1 So, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but instead as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.

The way of the worldly ­The world entices us slowly ­The world dulls spiritual discernment ­The world corrupts our entire lives

The way of the worldly ­Jesus: Be in the world not of it ­Paul: Don’t be conformed to this world

The way of the wise ­Abraham brought blessing ­Abraham lived apart ­Abraham interceded

Application The wise: God is holy and good The worldly: God’s way isn’t best The wicked: God doesn’t see
