Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit n 98% of our investigations involve crimes where the victim has been assaulted by someone they are related to or are acquainted with. n New data shows that children are more likely to be sexually assaulted between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. n Children are also more at risk of sexual assault in their own home, by either a relative or an acquaintance.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit n Children ages 12 to 17 are more likely to be sexually assaulted by an acquaintance rather than a family member. n Out of every 18 violent crime victims, one is under age 12; and of those victims, more than 33% are under age 7, and almost half of them are female. What are we doing to protect our future?

Twin Rivers Sex Offender Treatment Program Treatment serves to: n Hold offenders accountable n Teach offenders to avoid new offenses n Help the community monitor and control offenders

Department of Social and Health Services Division of Developmental Disabilities n Community Protection Program is for adults eligible for services from the Division of Developmental Disabilities: –Convicted of a crime of sexual violence –Convicted of or charged with acts directed towards strangers –Convicted of and/or charged with a sexually violent offense and/or predatory act, and may constitute a further danger –Has not been convicted and/or charged but has a history of stalking, sexually violent predatory act, and/or predatory act based on current behaviors. –Has committed one or more violent crimes.
