Motivation is an internal drive that makes a person move toward whatever goal they are trying to accomplish. two types of motivation  External motivation would be goals that are more of a materialistic nature  Internal motivation is one that comes from inside and is usually prompted by a more long term goal Motivation and teamwork had a strong relationship A high-performance team is going to strive for performances such that = 5 INTRODUCTION

PROBLEM STATEMENT  how the motivation cans effects on the performance of teamwork RESEARCH OBJECTIVE  The purpose of this study is to investigate how the motivation can effect the performance of teamwork  determining the important of motivation to teamwork performance. RESEARCH QUESTION  What is the relationship between motivation and teamwork performance?  What are the effect of motivation to the teamwork performance?  What type of motivation is important to create the successful performance of teamwork? SIGNIFICANT OF THE STUDY  The motivational factors that is most impactful as the team moves along the continuum of high-performance.  The motivation is important to perform at a higher level as an individual employee with responsibilities beyond the scope of the team.

Herzberg's theory of motivation and Maslow's hierarchy of needs is that a reference in this study and as the main theory to conduct this research. (Amabile, Hill, Hennesey, & Tighe, 1994, p. 950)  Extrinsic motivation is “the motivation to work primarily in response to something apart from the work itself”  Intrinsic motivation is “the motivation to engage in work primarily for its own sake” In 1992, Kerzner developed list of effective team attributes. A high-performance team requires:  team members must be committed to the project  the team and its members must have the required expertise and resources  goals must be clearly defined  communication must be open between members and support personnel and organizations LITERATURE REVIEW

survey method All staff working in the telecommunications industry throughout the state of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Unit of analysis for this study is team Two skill are used in develop questionnaire, that is nominal and interval Data collection techniques used is survey questionnaire  personally administrated technique  envelope complete with stem and researchers addressed and sent by post to the respondent The data will be analyzed by using program Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 11.0
