 Write your name on the front cover of your Secondary Course of Study.  You must bring your Secondary Course of Study guide when you come to Registration Night.  Teachers: write the names of absent students on a guide and send their guide to the office during homeroom.  Review information on the following slides.

 The key on page 23 is critical for understanding and using this guide – review it carefully before looking at the course descriptions on pages  If individual schools are listed and you don’t see SBHS, we don’t offer the course.  NOTE: Courses are offered based on ENROLLMENT numbers. If we don’t have enough students register for a course, it will not be offered.

 CTE Page 33: o We will offer Biomedical Technology II. Add SBHS to Offered at: NHS, WOHS, SBHS  Math Page 49: o Essentials for College Math (SREB READY Math) – can be 4 th math for students planning to attend college but who will not major in a STEM course of study. o See Math flow chart on next slide.

 Current 9 th graders will register for Honors Biology or Physical Science (See your Earth & Environmental Science teacher if you are unsure which to take).  If you take Physical Science as 10 th grader, you will take regular Biology will be the following year.  If you take Honors Biology as a 10 th grader, you will take chemistry the following year. Chemistry will count as your physical science credit for graduation.  Chemistry is a difficult course if you haven’t taken Physical Science. Math III is recommended before taking Chemistry. Discuss the best course option with your current science teacher.

◦ Student remains enrolled at SBHS while taking a course at another high school. ◦ Student provides own transportation. ◦ Request can be made at registration night and must then be approved by principal. ◦ Because of the distance and traveling time from SBHS to another high school, it is rare for students to work this into their schedule.

 WHY? ◦ For students to take advantage of a Specialized Program at another high school – see list on pages  How does it work? ◦ Complete the application process ◦ NOTE: Transportation is not provided. ◦ Must stay at the other school the entire school year. ◦ Students must be in good standing at their home school to be considered. High expectations must be met – good attendance, grades, discipline, etc..  How/When do I apply? (page 95) ◦ Student must see counselor to obtain an intent form ◦ Application is due to desired school by May 8, 2015 ◦ Current Controlled Enrollment students- Intent form is DUE to Mrs. Andre by 3/27/15!  Registration Checklist o Discuss the Course Selections form you completed with the counselor with your parents. o Review the graduation requirements and course guide with your parents. o a counselor if you have questions. (Mrs. Rains or Mrs. Simpson) o Bring your course guide to your assigned registration night. o When you met with the counselor, a received a sheet that indicates the date and time for your registration night.
