Goals for this Session 1.To learn about the successful collaborative processes in place at VT. 2.To learn about the Transfer Equivalency Database. 3.To learn about student and university benefits from our collaborative processes.

Work of the Transfer Subcommittee Pre-preparations Transfer Credit Assessment and problem solving with transfer credit issues Selecting Orientation dates Planning the schedule and the activities for the orientation day Having a collective voice with Admissions on issues having to do with Admissions Helping to recruit Transfer Orientation Guides (TOGS)

Student Outcomes – Benefits Have a full schedule before they leave orientation Know what transfer credits they have before they leave orientation Trouble shoot problems with transfer credit Get to know advisors and departmental representatives Become familiar with institutional support services

VT Outcomes - Benefits Advised approximately 85% of transfer students Improved the process and efficiency of evaluating and awarding transfer credit Approximately 75% of all transfer credit has been evaluated and awarded Coordinated all support services Developed strong network between other University Constituents Received positive feedback from students Achieved high level of student satisfaction

Conclusion Collaborative initiatives will continue at Virginia Tech in order to further improve the transfer process for our transfer students We are Virginia Tech We will prevail! We are inventing the future.
