The EcoBead Solution The issue: Increasing adhesive costs and adhesive shortages The challenge: Reduce adhesive consumption while maintaining package integrity The solution: Intermittent adhesive beads instead of one solid bead with Nordson EcoBead: The easiest, most cost efficient and fastest way to save 30-60% adhesive. Designed specifically/only for use with for new or existing MiniBlue II applicators and Saturn SP solenoids. Important: The strength of intermittent beads can be better than the strength of continous beads! This is tested to be true at 30% savings, when going up with the savings (means less adhesive) the strength will go down. The EcoBead Solution Operating principle Pre-set pattern samples with 30% savings (on top the original pattern, then 10 pattern selections for each % savings setting) Operating principle Original Pattern EcoBead Pattern The original pattern (A) is split up in 4 sections: Leading Bead (B) Trailing Bead (E) Stitched Beads (C) Savings (D) The length of all sections (B-E) is programmable as a percentage of the original pattern length (A). The system ensures that the end of the trailing bead (E) always aligns with the end of the original pattern. Changes in speed and signal length are recognized autonomously and interpreted automatically (“smart” system). Important: There are 10 different programs available, the „ideal“ one needs to be chosen depending on line speed as well as expected service life.
