RJ Boards Our Business Model RJ Boards

What is our business? Our business is a skate shop. We will be selling everything that has to do with skateboarding as well as longboarding. The things that is going to set our business apart from others are our competitive pricing and we will have a skate park located in our backyard.

Business Plan Hello, we are coming to you because we are looking to take out a loan. We are going to start up our own business called RJ Boards. RJ boards are going to be the best skate shop in town. Once we get settled in the shop we are making in San Francisco we plan on trying to expand to different cities across the globe. We will be offering every type of skateboards, if you like street/transition/downhill RJ Boards will be the place for you. Other than skateboards we will be selling clothes, shoes, helmets, stickers, hats, and other skateboard accessories. We have some ideas that will set us apart from other skate shops here are a few. In the commercial building we are renting we have a perfect backyard, so we are going to build a mini park for our valued customers can try out new boards or just cruse around. Another idea of ours is having annual skate comps, this will help build a bigger customer bases. Finally we are going to have a shop team. This means that the best local skates will get discounts. These skaters will continue skating locally and riding our products, practically a skating advertisement. We have put our heads together and have come up with a reasonable startup cost, 30, With this money we are planning on putting it towards construction, rent, and advertising we are not paying for stock because we are going to get all of our stock on consignment. To promote our business we will be putting fliers up all around the town stating when we open and where to find us. Also, we will be putting up build boards across the town and be handing out free t-shirts to promote our business. To top it off we will be holding a skateboarding contest at a local skate park we will be supporting to raise money for a new skate park or to expand on the skate park already there. Our business will be located in the heart of downtown san Francisco at a duplex we will be staying in one half of it and the other half will be our skate shop. We plan on repairing the duplex and making it better suited for our needs. Also, we will be constructing a skate park at the back of the duplex for costumers to try out their new boards or we will charge people an entry fee if they just want to skate it. We were lucky because all the companies we talked to are agreeing to sell us product on consignment. We have come to a conclusion with these companies to go 50% / 50% on selling their products. We figure we will be selling $150, annually this means we will receive $75, dollars per year while the rest goes to the companies we bought from. We figure that we will be able to pay back the loan in five years.
