12 oktober Housing Finding a place to live in a country as crowded as Holland is not easy Before coming to Holland, first ask your host institution whether or not housing will be arranged for you in advance In most cases the host institution will arrange student accommodation for the first year Very common to rent rooms on the private market Rooms usually unfurnished, and kitchens/bathrooms often shared Average monthly room rent: € (incl. electricity, water, gas) More information:

Working after your study Search period of a year to find a job after graduation Apply for a change in the purpose of stay in your residence permit: ‘seeking work after graduation’ The new residence permit is meant to look for a job as a so called ‘highly skilled migrant’, but also allowed to look for a job as a regular ‘labour migrant’ During search period you’re not allowed to get State grants, but you may work without work permit After search period no job found, then return to home country When found a job, then change purpose of stay again
