Continue our productive BEA/BSD collaboration Thoughtfully implement and align a coherent evaluation system Include a wide variety of voices in the process Support teachers and principals throughout the implementation, so that they are successful with the new evaluation criteria & requirements

Pilot Details Who? What then? How?

If I was in the pilot, I would want to know who was included… At least 20% of all classroom teachers must participate in the pilot across the District Included in the 20% - all non- continuing & provisional teachers and ALL principals & assistant principals ESAs, Librarians, certificated teachers in non-teaching assignments are NOT included Who?

If I was in the pilot, I would want to know how were teachers selected? The TPEP team created a program which randomly selected 250 continuing contract teachers to invite to participate in the pilot Parameters included: At least 3 participants per administrator Cross section teachers - elementary, middle, high, etc. Cross section of content How?

What happens after the pilot invitations are sent out? Invitations to be sent in late April Invited continuing contract teachers can choose or decline to participate Any continuing contract teacher who is NOT invited to participate through random selection may opt into the pilot. This is an individual teacher decision. All non-continuing & provisional teachers must participate RSVP by May 11, 2012 What then?

What’s the pilot timeline for this year? Pilot invitations sent April 2012 Participants must RSVP May 11, 2012 Pilot participants attend paid 4-hr training in June June 23 or 25, 2012 BSD continues PD around Instructional Framework & Pilot August 2012

What are essential elements of evaluation in the pilot? New Criteria Possible Evidence Rubrics
