Transcript & Credit Check Check your transcript for errors Do a credit check using the “Graduation Requirements Credit Check Worksheet“Graduation Requirements Credit Check Worksheet” found on the SSHS counseling website. Colleges look for an upward trend in GPA. Your final transcript will be sent to the college you indicate on your senior Graduation Survey.

ACT & SAT Testing Check with the colleges you are interested in to see if they require the SAT or ACT, or if they accept both. Check with colleges to see if you need to take any subject tests. Check with colleges to see if you need to take the writing portion of the test. You can not just take a writing test. SSHS gives both ACT/Sat on Saturdays. Common Application Essay Prompts for word limit, not your goal. Use the full range if you need it, but don't feel obligated to do so. (The application won't accept a response shorter than 250 words.) 1. Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story. 2. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn? 3. Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again? 4. Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there, and why is it meaningful to you? 5. Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.

Keep addresses and phone numbers current in Naviance and Infinite Campus Ask teachers for letters of recommendation in the spring Dedicate about 3 hours a week for applications, essays, scholarship searches, etc. Read your Naviance s so you don’t miss out on important information!
