Linares del Acebo is 14 kilometers from the capital of the council, Cangas del Narcea. It is at an altitude of 900 meters. It belongs to the parish of Linares del Acebo. Other villages belonging to this parish are: Bornazal, El Cabanal, El Acebo, Castilmoure,…It limits to the north with Bornazal, to the east with Parada la Nueva, to the south with Castil and to the west with El Acebo. Linares has 30 inhabitants living in 8 houses. One of the houses has been abandoned.There is an horreo (a typical Asturian building made of wood, raised from the ground used for storage), which is about to fall apart. There aren´t any shops or bars, so we have a weekly delivery of fish on Wednesdays, bread on Mondays and Fridays and rubbish is picked up on Tuesdays.
