Problems I can’t follow the speed of the native speakers. I don’t have enough vocabularies to understand the meaning. I can’t catch some words, but don’t know how to response. Accepting tones from different countries.

Solutions I don’t know What to Say or How to describe! Tips: [1] Watch movies. [2] Practice with or listen to foreigners and copy their responses.

Solutions Different Tones! Tips:[1] Listen to different people talking. [2] Watch movies from different countries. [3] Stay abroad for a while.

Methods & Practice 1) Listen to English programs How to work: *Find an Egnlish magazine that you are interested in. *Read the contents before you listen to the program.

Methods & Practice 2) Listen to English songs. How to work: * Find a song you like. The slower the better. * Read the lyrics first and then listen to the song.

Methods & Practice Listen to English songs How to work: *After you’re familiar with the song, you can sing along with it. * If you want to know the song better, you can look up the words you don’t know.

Methods & Practice 3) Watch DVDs How to work: * Rent a DVD. * Watch the Chinese subtitle first. * Then, watch the English subtitle or no subtitle for just listening.

Methods & Practice 4) Practice with an English speaker. How to work:* Never be afraid of speaking wrong. Speak OUT! Do your best to say what you want. * Talk more and also listen to the other person’s response.

More Details…. Listen to English songs *Learn happily! It can stimulate your listening very fast because of the melody. You can train your tonuge while you singing with the song.

More Details…. Practice with a foreigner * You can practice directly and find out your question and fix your mistakes right away. Talk more and you’ll find out how to react naturally. After a term of practing, you’ll feel comforetable to chat with foreigneres.

Suggestions Improving listening takes time, so don’t feel frustrated when you don’t understand. Don’t give yourself too much pressure. Don’t assume a time limit. (or you’ll feel pressure and frustrated easily) As long as you keep practicing, you’ll improve slowly. Start from the easy contents.
