Be Respectful Be Responsible No Vandalism Students who vandalize books will receive vandalism tickets from the school resource officer. Report any vandalism on desk or in books immediately so you are not held responsible.

Be Respectful Be Responsible Keep your folders clean. Folders with graffiti or tagging are turned in to the school resource officer. Folders with gang related photographs in the clear sleeves will be turned in to the school resource officer. Assignments with graffiti will not be graded.

No cell phones Comply with teacher, deal with issues in a respectful appropriate time Dress Code Don’t talk back Internet violations will be taken seriously with parent phone call/meeting. Privileges to attend Rose Park may be taken away based on internet violations because students must have internet access for tech classes

Follow Directions “The worst thing any student can do is not follow the directions of a staff member or teacher.” James Andersen Students always have the right to appeal a situation with administration.

Dress Code Violations

Break up your clothing colors. No dressing in all one color No athletic jerseys No numbers on clothes and accessories No Gang insignia on clothes or jewelry,. Tattoos with gang affiliation must be covered White and Black hair ties only

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS You will given a T-shirt to help you if you have a dress code violation. Return the T-shirt to a teacher at the end of the day. Chronic dress code violations will result in a parent/guardian meeting.

Follow Directions Cell Phones must be turned off when entering the building

No Cell Phones If you are seen using a cell phone, a staff person will request it from you and hold it until the end of the day. Students who continue to use their phone in the building will need a parent/guardian meeting to get their phone returned.

No iPods in Class

No IPODS If you are seen with ear pieces, a staff person will request it from you and hold it until the end of the day. Students who continue to use their ipods during class will need a parent/guardian meeting to get their ipod returned.

Closed Campus Parking lot is considered off campus w/o permission. The Salt Lake Science Center is considered off campus, beyond the sign and through gray doors is off campus. All students must enter and exit from the Northwest doors at the back of the building. If you must leave school check-out with the attendance tracker or it is considered a sluff. Be There Be Ready

Your Advisory Teacher Will: Advocate for you Help you with any problems you are having with classes or other students Connect you and your family with resources Help you understand your transcript and create a graduation plan with you. You advisor will call you after every third absence in addition to the tracker who will call every time you are absent.

Horizonte Students Horizonte students who attend school regularly do well on the UBSCT. Horizonte students are on the Horizonte Honor Roll. Horizonte students go to college. Several Horizonte students receive college scholarships. 11 th and 12 th graders can take Salt Lake Tooele Applied Technology college classes and district CTE classes.

Program Requirements 9 th and 10 th grade program at main site only. Directed Studies: must have full-time job and TABE test above 9 th grade. South City: 12 th grade and TABE test above 10th grade. Rose Park: 11 th or 12 th grade only; must take SLCC block of classes. Additional packets at night: must have successful session with all grades passing. Other sites: Determined at intake. The better your grades, attendance, and/or behavior, the more choice you have with placement. Placement can be changed if grades, attendance and/or behavior are not in compliance.
