Advantages of Socialism and Communism

More social programs provided by government (ex. – healthcare)

No unemployment. No poverty. * Everyone should have homes and food.

Advantages of Communism

There is SUPPOSED to be an equal distribution of wealth. No one is richer or poorer than anyone else.

Disadvantages of Socialism and Communism

Less productivity – People are not likely to work as hard if they know it will not change how much they are paid.

Because people are less productive, quality is poor. Because there is less competition, there are fewer products to choose from.

Very high taxes to pay for social programs.

Disadvantages of Communism

Does not allow for individualism. Can cause food shortages.
