Haroun Tazieff was born in Varsovie, on may 11th He died in February He was first a geologist / agronomist and then he became a famous volcanologist. He has the russian nationality and he was naturalized belgian in He came in Belgium in He has revolutionized the sciences ! He did a lot of sport, he was a fighter. He made his military service in Belgium and made his studies in Brussel. He was a soldier and a resistant, he was naturalized french in 1971, so he lost his belgian nationality. He was buried in the cemetery at Passy in Paris.

His passion begin when he learned the eruption of Kituro in Congo in He created and animated a volcanology center at the university of Brussel in He devoted himself to a lot of volcanology expeditions like the Etna. He was appointed director many times anywhere in Europe. He had the greatest post of the history of volcanology. His CAREER He was a faculty assistant ( ), was mining engineer in Katanga (1945). Geologist (Belgian Congo). There, he studied the eruption of Kituro. In 1957, he beads the National Center of Volcanology. One year later, he worked in the university of sciences in Paris.
