Mindfulness: paying attention on purpose

Mindfulness “Learning how to live in the ‘now’ — learning to be more consciously aware — enables students to notice their thoughts and emotions, identify a difference between impulses and actions” Carol Cattley – Mindfulness in Schools 2011

Why Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the main tool or practice to enable us to slow down and connect with the present moment, allowing us to enjoy what is right here, and will lessen a difficult situation by allowing us to relate to what is happening now.

Simple Practice A few minutes to cultivate your mindfulness Breathing – breath awareness Breath and movement - Synchronize breathing with arm movement, Connecting breath to walking Food and mindfulness – eating a small biscuit, raison or piece of fruit with full attention
