  There were not being held back due to religion beliefs.  Religious judges and lawyers were replaced with mostly educated ones.  More power was given to education instead of religion.  The government was given a more western look. Not basin laws on religion. Religion/Government

  Marriages had to be registered, the minimum age for women to get married was set to be 15.  Women were allowed to have the right to divorce in their marriage.  Women were banned from wearing the chadur and were told to wear more western clothing.  Men could not take second wife without permission of the court.  Women were given some power over men. Families

  Girls were not required to wear the veil.  Classes based on religion.  Students were punished not letting them have the experience of a child.  Girls and boys were divided.  Mothers could not attend school without a veil. School
