Population Patterns The British Isles have welcomed a large number of immigrants and many refugees have fled to Great Britain. How is the US experience similar to what is described in the British Isles? How would a wave of immigrants reshape the culture in these areas? What is Northern Europe’s largest and oldest urban area? Why do the British Isles have a greater population than the Scandinavian Peninsula?

The Rise of Northern Europe Middle Ages A.D.– 1500 A.D. Feudalism - a system in which monarchs or lords gave land to nobles in return for pledges of loyalty Reformation - a religious movement of the 1500s that lessened the power of the Roman Catholic Church and introduced Protestantism to Europe Enlightenment - a movement to value reason and question tradition What group brought Scandinavian influence to the British Isles?
