DeGóis Platform DeGóis is a set of tools conceived to collect information on the intellectual production and professional activities of the portuguese research community. The information is collected under the form of a Curriculum Vitae, being the responsibility of each researcher to keep the information of its own CV up to date.  DeGóis Online is the software that enables this work. The platform will increase the amount and quality of the information collected from the community

Objectives and Purposes  Have a national Science and Technology (S&T) information system that can be used by governmental agency's for, e.g.: Candidates evaluation for obtaining financial aids and scholarships Choosing consultants or members of evaluation commissions Projects evaluation  To participate in a Portuguese and Spanish official language international S&T network.

SCienTI Network  The SCienTI intent is to contribute for S&T development of the participant countries by facilitating interchange mechanisms, complementary and socialization experiences, products, services and information systems in ST&I management support.  This network was designed in a space of convergence between different actors in knowledge management for science development and technological innovation, through which it can generate methodologies, tools, instruments and ST&I products.

DeGóis Online Is a web application that enables users to manage the information on is own CV. The existing DeGóis Online is the first set of tools in development. It supports:  CV management  Printing CV in different formats (PDF, rtf)  Error verification  Export/import CV on XML format

Potentialities and future work  Make available the DeGóis online to the scientific community for CV updating.  Interoperability with the Scienti Network and other Science & Technology Networks  Linking with integral text repositories (e.g. DSpace)  Improve the S&T portal with advanced search mechanisms  Build new applications (projects, research groups)

Potentialities and future work  Build an institutional version of the platform to install in portuguese organizations.  The use of the CV system in FCT’s grants and projects applications.  The permanent use of information offered by the platform to support science and technology management.  Creation of advanced mechanisms for knowledge discovery.
