Teacher Appreciation Week Wednesday, May 8 from 2:00 – 4:00 Receive 2 volunteer hours and do something nice for the teachers of our school

Installation Ceremony Tentative: Monday, May 20 from 6:30-8:00pm at the Library Auditorium Directors will let you know of the definite date within a few days. Join us to retire our outgoing Board and install the incoming Board!

Vacant Positions in the Club Tuesday, April 22, 2013 President (nomination) Editor (appoint – application) Webmaster (appoint – application) Committee Chairs (same as above)

Position: President The floor is now opened to nominations for one minute.

Position: Editor The Editor is responsible for taking quality pictures at all major and most minor events we hold. The Editor would also need to send these images to the Webmaster throughout the year. The Editor will also be responsible for creating the Key Club Board located outside room. In addition to creating it, the Editor must regularly update the Board with all new events coming up in the month. The Editor must create a monthly newsletter (be creative and know how to use the web) that will contain what our club, division, zone, district, or club in general has done within the past month.

Position: Webmaster The Webmaster will be responsible for keeping our social media sources up to date (Twitter, Facebook, and our website). This will include posting the next meeting dates and uploading photos that will be sent to you by the appointed Editor. This will require you attending all board meetings to make sure the information you would be posting is accurate and recent. The Webmaster must be tech savvy and know how to use Twitter, Facebook, and WordPress.

Position: K-Family Relations CC Kiwanis-Family Relations Committee Key Club has different levels. The K-Family Chair will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a relationship between our club and the different levels by attending all of their meetings. This may be done through inviting the K-family members to our service projects or setting up visits with the younger members of our K-family to keep them interested in service!

Position: Service CC This Committee chair will be responsible for providing our clubs with community service idea and opportunities. Some project examples may include: Canned Food Drive, Ronald McDonald Home, YUDA Bands project, and Teens for Jeans Drive. As committee chair, you would find projects such as these and then present them to the board where we would decide how to proceed with the project. For more ideas you may visit the Florida Key Club Website (Floridakeyclub.com/Committees/Service).

Position: Fundraising CC Our club has many great aspirations and to accomplish many of our goals funds are often needed. As fundraising committee chair you would be responsible for coming up with ideas and carrying out fundraising projects. An example of a great fundraising project and one we would suggest is holding car washes. You must organize and conduct a car wash every single month. You will also be the headperson for our annual Pancake Breakfast; therefore, if you apply for this position, you must have attended our Pancake Breakfast and car washes.

Position: Major Emphasis CC We primarily raise money for UNICEF through our annual Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF drive. You would be responsible for organizing this drive and keeping the process running smoothly. Another large part of the Major Emphasis Committee is the Eliminate Project! This great project will be over in 2015 so we want to raise as much money as possible. If you would like to head this committee please read up on the project and think of fundraising ideas (example: Dress Down Days).

Position: Joe DiMaggio CC This committee chair is in charge of scheduling visits with the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital every month. The chair will then go to the hospital with his/her committee and make crafts with the children! This is a great opportunity for hands on service. You can even give each month a theme (example: In March the chair may choose to create flower crafts with the children for the beginning of spring).

Position: Children’s Harbor CC This committee is centered on a foster home in our area called Children’s Harbor. Being active with Children’s Harbor is another great hands on committee and can be very rewarding if you are someone who particularly enjoys service relating to children! The Chair of this Committee will need to organize events with the foster home including but not limited to: Halloween party (providing the kids with food and drinks) and A Winter Holiday Party. Chair must call to local stores (Publix, Costco, Pizza places, etc) to get all donations in order to not spend any money.

Position: Advertising CC The key to truly successful events is advertisement. The chair of this committee would be responsible for creating banners, flyers, and other forms of spreading the word concerning upcoming events. The Chair would need to attend all board meetings in order to stay up to date on events and make banners whenever needed. This is a great committee to chair if you are organized, creative, and committed!

How to apply for these positions President: Today we had nominations and we will elect our next President at the next General Meeting. Speeches will take place May 6. All other positions (Editor, Webmaster, CC’s): Please print an application from the Files section of our website and return it to Ms. Rago. Applications are due May 6.
