footy Footy is an all Australian made ball game. Its proper name is AFL, AFL is an acronym for Australian Football League.

Basic rules Some of the basic rules are ; You are not allowed to throw the ball You are not allowed to hold the opposition player you are next to You are not allowed to tackle above the shoulders You have to bounce the ball every 15 steps

Equipment Some equipment you will need is; You will need goalposts, four big and four small You will need a round, oval shaped ball (footy) You will need a Guernsey You will need footy boots You will need a boundary line on the oval shaped ground You will need a mouth guard

How to play During general play, players can position themselves anywhere on the field, and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The main ways to do that is kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how to handle the ball, for example you are not allowed to run with the ball without bouncing it, you are not allowed to rip the ball out of the opposition’s hands when they’re on the free kick
